After nearly 109 years of proudly serving the Whanganui and Ruapehu communities, Wanganui Furnishers, which began in June 1916 as Wanganui Furniture Manufacturing Co. by Dan Wilson, Percy Ginn and Alf Anderson, will close its doors on 28 March 2025.
The decision to close has not been made lightly. However, after over 50 years in the business each, both John and Geoff Anderson (Alf's grandson) are understandably ready to retire and enjoy some well-deserved down time.
John and Geoff are proud of the legacy they leave behind and they extend their heartfelt thanks to the hundreds of dedicated staff that have made this near-109-year tenure possible, along with the loyal customers, and the wider Whanganui community who have supported the business for generations.
